Owner of Dhanmondi office building of Evaly arrested for stealing goods
Dhanmondi police have arrested the owner of the building on charges of stealing goods from the Dhanmondi office of e-commerce company Evaly. Salahuddin, the owner of Dhanmondi 14, was arrested in a raid on Dhanmondi 11/A Road on Wednesday evening in a case filed by Additional Secretary Mahbub Kabir, a member of the government-appointed Evaly Management Board.
Dhanmondi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ikram Ali Mia confirmed the incident to media last night.
He said the Dhanmondi office of Evaly was run on rent. After the arrest of Md. Russell, Managing Director of Evaly and his wife Shamima Nasreen, a case was filed against the landlord Salauddin at Dhanmondi police station for stealing goods and furniture from the office. The accused Salauddin has been arrested and brought to the police station after conducting a raid on Dhanmondi 11/A Road this evening.
Dhanmondi Police Station Inspector (Operations) Rabiul Islam, who is investigating the case, said the High Court had constituted a board headed by a former judge on October 12 to review the allegations of fraud and management rules raised against Evaly. Additional Secretary Mahbub Kabir, a member of the board, filed a case against Salahuddin, the owner of the house, at Dhanmondi Police Station for stealing Evaly's goods and furniture. He was the only accused in that case.
